Biography
JoAnne Eichelberger is a business litigation attorney with over 24 years of federal court experience, offering clients deep legal insight and strategic counsel in complex disputes. Before entering private practice, she served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the United States District Court in Jacksonville, working closely with multiple judges on a broad range of civil and criminal cases. For 23 of those years, she was the law clerk to the Honorable Howell W. Melton, Senior United States District Judge, where she managed his caseload and assisted with legal research, drafting opinions, and preparing for hearings and trials.
Ms. Eichelberger has extensive experience in bankruptcy appeals, civil rights, consumer law, employment law, ERISA, patent law, social security disputes, and contract and tort law in diversity cases. On the criminal side, she has worked on sentencing issues and habeas proceedings. Her appellate experience includes assisting Judge Melton with drafting opinions for the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Ms. Eichelberger earned her Juris Doctor with High Honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she served as Senior Articles Editor for the Florida Law Review and was awarded a Fellowship with the Center for Governmental Responsibility. She has been admitted to The Florida Bar and the Middle District of Florida Bar since 1990 and is an active member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, the Jacksonville Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and a past president of the Catholic Lawyers Guild. She also contributed as an Associate Editor for the Jacksonville Bar Association Bulletin.
Beyond her litigation practice, Ms. Eichelberger is dedicated to legal education. She served as an Adjunct Professor at Florida Coastal School of Law, where she taught Law and Religion and Florida Constitutional Law for four semesters.
